Specific Care for Specific Gear
POLO SHIRTS
First Wash:
"Wash separately or with similar colors before first wear. This sets the fabric and ensures optimal performance."
Regular Washing:
- Turn inside out to protect prints
- Machine wash cold (30°C max)
- Use mild, non-biological detergent
- Gentle or delicate cycle
- No fabric softener (affects moisture-wicking)
Drying:
- Shake out immediately after washing
- Hang dry on wide hangers
- If machine drying: low heat, remove while slightly damp
- Never wring out
Ironing & Storage:
- Iron on low heat, inside out
- Use steam for stubborn wrinkles
- Hang in closet with space between garments
- Cedar balls recommended for freshness
Pro Tip from Bobby:
"That post-round polo doesn't always need a full wash. Air it out overnight and spot-clean if needed. I get 3-4 rounds from mine before washing."
CAPS & HATS
Structured Caps:
- Hand wash or spot clean only
- Use cap washer frame for machine (top rack dishwasher works!)
- Cold water, minimal detergent
- Air dry on cap form or coffee can
Performance/Moisture-Wicking Caps:
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
- Place in garment bag
- Air dry only - heat destroys the sweatband
- Reshape while damp
Removing Sweat Stains:
- Mix: 4 tbsp baking soda + 1/4 cup water
- Apply paste, gentle scrub with soft brush
- Let sit 1 hour, rinse cold
- Repeat if necessary
Storage:
- Store on cap rack or shelf
- Never stack heavy items on top
- Use cap storage box for travel
OUTERWEAR
Washing Frequency:
"Only when visibly soiled or after 10-15 wears. Over-washing breaks down water-resistant coatings."
Washing Instructions:
- Check pockets, zip all zippers
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
- Technical wash preferred
- Extra rinse cycle to remove all detergent
Drying:
- Tumble dry low for 10 minutes to reactivate DWR coating
- Hang dry completely
- Never use high heat
Maintaining Water Resistance:
- Reapply DWR spray every 20 washes
- Test by sprinkling water - should bead up
- Iron on low heat can reactivate coating
PANTS & SHORTS
Everyday Care:
- Turn inside out before washing
- Machine wash cold with like colors
- Avoid washing with heavy items (jeans, towels)

- Steam to refresh between washes
